Deadline for submission: 10 September 2025
The Mediterranean Sea is one of the most vulnerable semi-enclosed seas to climate change, with impacts such as sea-level rise, ocean acidification, warming waters, and increasingly frequent storm surges. These changes pose significant risks to ecosystems, fisheries, and coastal communities. Urgent adaptation measures are needed to safeguard marine resources and the commercial fisheries sector.
In this context, SPA/RAC is launching a call for consultation to:
- Prepare a regional document on the state of the art of national and local climate change adaptation strategies in Mediterranean coastal areas.
- Organise a regional training workshop to strengthen adaptation planning capacities, drawing on the MedProgramme Child Project SCCF guidelines and the Climagine method, with a particular focus on issues affecting the commercial fisheries sector.
This activity is supported by the GEF FishEBM Med project and the EU-funded SEMPA project.
Interested consultants are invited to refer to the Terms of Reference for details on participation requirements, evaluation procedures, and other relevant information. Questions for clarification may be submitted by e-mail to procurement@spa-rac.org no later than five (5) calendar days before the submission deadline.
